Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon participants power through light rainfall

On a cool and cloudy day in Biloxi, runners powered through light rainfall to take on the Mississippi Gulf Coast half and full marathon.

Both courses are set along the beach, giving runners seaside views, and making the journey as scenic as it was rewarding.

Jake Braam, the fastest runner in the full marathon ran his best time,  setting a new record for himself. When asked what fuels his determination, he shares that his mindset is the key aspect. 

For Katherine Phillips, the fastest female runner, she says crossing the finish line in first place was an unexpected thrill. She also revealed that this is her first marathon and she participated to check it off her bucket list.
