Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber Annual Meeting

Today more than 650 business and community leaders gathered at the Beau Rivage for the Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce annual meeting.
It was a great year for the chamber and a great year of giving back. The meeting serves as an opportunity for business leaders to get together and network. It also serves as the chamber’s biggest fundraiser for the year. Just this year, the chamber celebrated over $66,000 returned to the community in the form of grants and scholarships.
They also discussed plans for what is to come. 2015 President of the Chamber Dr. Eric Brown said, “Well, I think we’re going to continue some of the same initiatives that we had from the past year. Again, one of the most important is “One Coast”, pushing the idea that we need to approach economic development from a regional standpoint. We need to think as a coast, we carry more power that way and if we do that, we’ve got a lot of opportunity.”
This year’s Pat Santucci Spirit of the Gulf Coast Award went to John M. Hairston, CEO of Hancock Holding Company, Hancock Bank and Whitney Bank.
