Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic wraps up

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- A week of fun and competition on the water wrapped up on Sunday at Point Cadet Marina.

Awards and prize money were dished out at the end of the Billfish Classic. Anglers have been returning from the deep water off the Mississippi Sound for the past two days for weigh-ins and bringing in their prized hauls.

90 teams participated this year, competing for nearly $2 million in prize money.

The 2025 Grand Champions are Team Breathe Easy. They took home the grand prize with a 660.3 pound blue marlin! Team Fleur De Lis won the Top Catch and Release prize with five blue marlin releases!

Preparations have already begun for next year’s Billfish Classic, which will be held around the same time next year.
