Mississippi Gulf Coast Ballet Theatre preparing for ‘Nutcracker’ performance

For over a decade, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Ballet Theatre has danced the Nutcracker during the holiday season.

Final rehearsals for the upcoming Nutcracker performance at the Beau Rivage were at the Gulf Coast School of Performing Arts today.

With over 100 Gulf Coast children getting ready for the show, final rehearsals were intense.  The dancers have been training since August for the performance this month.

Dancers starting at the age of three get involved to dance in the unforgettable holiday tale. Mississippi Gulf Coast Ballet Theatre Director Elaine Kulick said, “You get so involved in the story and it puts you in the Christmas spirit. We bring in Ballet Pensacola along with international performers and it is just so thrilling to be at the Beau Rivage. We have the students that come back each season and we have one student that was with us for about four years. She’s Clara this year and so she’s super thrilled about that.”

Tickets can be purchased on the Beau Rivage website starting at $19.95.
