Mississippi Firedogs football comes to the Coast

There’s a new sports team coming to the Coast in the Mississippi Firedogs.

The team makes a return, previously playing in the Indoor Professional Football League. Now, they will lace up and play in the Professional Development Football League.

The team plans to begin playing next year with tryouts getting underway this month on the 17th. Assistant Coach Stephen O’Shaughnessy said, “To you guys that are interested out there, you are seeing this that are interested in playing football and feel like maybe it’s over for you, now it doesn’t have to be. It doesn’t have to be. Come out here and just at least give it a shot.”

For those interested between the ages of 18 and 30, tryouts will be held at John Joseph O’Reilly Park in Biloxi at 12 p.m. on June 17th.
