Mississippi Export Railroad celebrates 100 years of business

Moving transportation forward for 100 years, Mississippi Export Railroad celebrates a century of business.

From 1922 to 2022, Mississippi Export Railroad has expanded to a 42-mile short line railroad that extends from Pascagoula to Evanston, MS.

For 100 years, MSE has played a vital role in the development and sustainability of businesses along the Gulf Coast region.

MSE has been in the Luce family for five generations and they look forward to another 100 years. Mississippi Export Railroads President and CEO Kate Luce said, “We are continually thinking about how do we grow and diversify our business. We’re a fairly small business and every additional car load means diversity, stability, and strength for our business. So, as we look forward, we are saying how can we capture every little bit of business in our community and also provide real value.”

George County board members, MSE staff, and local railroad lovers attended the anniversary.
