Mississippi Estuary Program opening applications for middle school teachers

Mississippi Gulf Coast (WXXV)- The Mississippi Sound Estuary Program is opening applications for middle school teachers.

The eligibility is for 5th – 8th grade teachers in Jackson, Harrison, or Hancock County.

Those selected will be given the chance to plant saltgrass using a blend of soil and recycled glass sand.

Students in the class will be able to learn about coastal restoration, conservation, and the power of innovation.

All supplies will be provided, as well as a stipend for different aspects of the project.
