Mississippi Division of the International Association for Identification conference
The Mississippi Division of the International Association for Identification is holding its yearly conference in Gulfport this week.
The three day conference explores aspects of the response, management, and investigation of mass casualty events. The main topic this year is called ‘controlling the chaos.’
Police officers, detectives, crime lab personnel, and students from local colleges had the opportunity to learn from the six speakers.
During this session, Timothy Frederick, from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, talked about the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival shooting.
George Chaix with MDIAI discusses how important it is to be prepared when tragedy strikes. “You have to be prepared for when it happens. We pray that it doesn’t happen in any of our communities, but we have to be prepared, so as law enforcement professionals, it’s our duty to be prepared for when this happens so that we can stop the threat, and then after investigate the incident.”
The conference will finish up Wednesday when attendees hear from Special Agent Richard Marx and John Curnutt with Alert Training.
