HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WXXV)- A summer residency program is coming to the University of Southern Mississippi’s Hattiesburg campus.

The Mississippi Digital Humanities Hub, also known as The Hub, is holding the six-week program for students majoring in humanities related fields at a two- or four-year college or university in Mississippi who are returning to school in the fall.

Students will explore a wide range of tools including mapping, data visualization, and other tools they can use in research.

The Hub is also providing funds for local digitization projects throughout the state. That is being funded through congressional allocation managed by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.

Applicants for the summer residency program can be found here. The deadline to apply is March 31. The residency program runs from June 15 to July 24.
