Mississippi Department of Education releases graduation numbers for 2024-25

JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV)- Mississippi education leaders have released statewide graduation numbers for the last school year.

MDE says nearly 91 percent of Mississippi High School seniors graduated in 2024-2025 with a seven percent dropout rate.

Compared to the 2023-2024 school year, the dropout rate decreased by 1.6 percent.

In a statement, State Superintendent Dr. Lance Evans says this reflects the hard work of students and teachers across the state and is another positive sign of Mississippi’s overall education momentum.
