Mississippi Democrats respond to Biden news

The Mississippi Democratic Party released this statement in response to the news that President Joe Biden is withdrawing from his re-election campaign:

”As you may know, President Joe Biden, in a selfless act of dedication to our nation’s future, has decided not to accept the nomination for president.

“In his stead, he has wholeheartedly endorsed Vice President, Kamala Harris, as our Democratic Party Nominee.

The Mississippi Delegation is deeply grateful for President Biden’s steadfast leadership. Under his administration, and with the unwavering support of  Congressman Bennie Thompson, Mississippians have had a seat at the table during his administration.

“This is a pivotal moment for our party. We must remain united and dedicated to the principles that define us as Democrats. Together, we can ensure that our values of justice, equality, and progress continue to guide our nation forward.”
