Mississippi Coast Soccer All-Star Game: East vs. West

Less than two weeks ago, the Mississippi Gulf Coast was represented by four local soccer teams in the MHSAA state title games. On the boys side, Gulfport and St. Stanislaus won it all while the Long Beach boys and girls fell just short.
Tonight, some of those same standout players took the pitch one last time in the Mississippi Coast Soccer All-Star Game. It was East vs. West over at Greyhound Stadium where Ocean Springs is hosting the annual classic for the east side.
This game ends in the 2-2 tie. No separation on the girls side either with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
For more on what it means to celebrate a championship season, with a little bit of well-deserved recognition for his players, here’s St. Stanislaus Head Coach Danny Patton. “Well, it’s been great. The last two weeks were a lot, which showed in our final match, we were wore out, but after the championship the guys were ready for a little break and they had a break and now these guys that are back out here, they’re ready to go. Having three guys from our squad is not bad, especially one of them being a sophomore.”
The Rock-A-Chaws took down Amory in the 4A title game by the score of 1-0.
