Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum in Gulfport is expanding

The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum in Gulfport is adding a south station.

The museum is outgrowing the space it is in and the owners want to add more Lego figures and train figures to the museum.

So, they decided to add a south station across the street on Pass Road.

The south station will have an additional 25,000 square feet of modeled trains, over 200 model trains with displays and over one million more Legos. The south station will also offer a STEM program so people can get an in depth understanding into the building structure of trains.

Katlyn McNutt, an employee at the museum, tells News 25 what we can expect. “We are going to have 13 new layouts across the street at 615. We are going to have a lot bigger layouts and we are going to have more Legos, too.”

The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum’s south station will open March 20th.
