Mississippi Coast Coliseum adding beach parking
If you’re driving along Highway 90 in Biloxi, you may notice some work going on at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
The coliseum is working with W.C. Fore Trucking, Inc. to develop the area west of the Coliseum on Highway 90 into a 500 plus space parking lot.
Coliseum Executive Director Matt McDonnell says the area will have curbing, lighting, and storm drainage.
Work began June 27th, right after Scrapin’ the Coast, and McDonnell says the parking project will be done for Cruisin’ the Coast in October.
The land, where a hotel sat before Hurricane Katrina, was acquired from a bank in 2014 and paid off before the work began.
McDonnell said the parking lot work is being paid for through a Restore Act grant. A new marquee is also included in the project.
