Mississippi Aquarium recycling old Mardi Gras beads

I’m sure we all caught too many beads to count at the Mardi Gras parades this year, but now that the season is over, what do you do with all those beads?

The Mississippi Aquarium has you covered with their Mardi Gras Bead Recycling Program. This program partners with organizations across the Coast and has prevented tens of thousands of pounds of beads from entering ecosystems and harming wildlife.

To donate your beads, simply drop them off at the ticketing plaza on your way to the aquarium.

Beads collected will be repurposed and resold to fund medical care for those in need. The final drop off day is March 15th.
