Mississippi Aquarium opens up internships for Summer 2025

Mississippi Aquarium is opening their summer marine mammal internships.

All are invited to apply from now through March 24th.

The internship itself runs from May 12th to August 9th.

Those who apply will get hands-on experience working with animals at the aquarium.

Duties include helping staff with care of dolphins and otters.

“Many people want to know how they can get a job caring for marine mammals and the best way to do that is by completing an internship. Our interns assist in the daily care of our dolphins and otters, by participating in diet preparation, cleaning, and guest engagement,” said Molly Orr, the senior animal care specialist. “They attend weekly lectures to learn more about our animal training and enrichment programs. Most importantly, they gain valuable hands-on experience by participating in training sessions.”

Qualifications include being enrolled or a recent graduate of a psychology, biology, or marine biology program.
