Mississippi Aquarium offering free admission to teachers this weekend

Southern Miss and the Mississippi Aquarium are teaming up to show their appreciation for teachers this weekend.

Saturday and Sunday, teachers and school staff will receive free admission when they present their school ID at the ticket area.

There will be opportunities for teachers to take guided tours of the aquarium and its classroom, along with information about field trip opportunities this school year.

This is all part of a busy week for the aquarium. There’s also a school supply drive benefiting the United Way of South Mississippi right now. If you bring $10 or more in school supplies, you can bring a guest for free.

Eric Gallichant with the MS Aquarium says one lucky teacher will have the chance to win a day with the ‘aquarium in motion’ truck.

The ‘aquarium in motion’ truck can transport sting rays, sharks, and other small marine life up to three hours away.
