Mississippi Aquarium hosting turtle release on May 23

Mississippi Aquarium is set to host its next turtle release in celebration of National Turtle Day.

That release begins at 4 PM Thursday afternoon on the beach in front of Edgewater Mall. Six Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles are set to be released in the Sound.

These are the same turtles that were flown to Mississippi is December of 2023 after being cold-stunned.
