Mississippi Aquarium holding book drive
Mississippi Aquarium is looking for local support for their growing educational library.
Starting today, in honor of ‘Read Across America’ Week, the Aquarium is offering $2 off entry for those who donate March 2nd to the 4th.
The books will be used for educational programming as well as resources for the aquarium’s team. They are accepting books about local plants, animals, biology, and children’s educational books.
The promotion is only valid the day the book is donated. Lead Education Specialist Elizabeth Whigham said, “Our library is accessible to all aquarium staff and so they can come check out a book and you can learn about all of our plants around Mississippi, all the dolphins around the world, sharks any fish. We really want it to be a resource for all of our interpreters and just general staff to have more knowledge to help teach our guests when they come in about animals and the importance of conservation.”
If you can’t donate a book in person you can donate online through Amazon Smile. For more donation information visit msaquarium.org.
