Mississippi AG clears officers in 2022 officer-involved shootings
Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office has closed three officer-involved shooting cases dating back to last year including one South Mississippi shooting.
Those cases include an October 20th, 2022 shooting in Lucedale involving a George County sheriff’s deputy, a December 11th, 2022 shooting in Jackson with a capitol police officer, and a December 21st, 2022 shooting in Richland with a Richland police officer.
In each of these incidents, the attorney general’s office says the use of force by officers was justified.
