Missing girl’s body fund in Pearl River

The body of the 12-year-old girl who disappeared while swimming over the weekend was recovered from the Pearl River this morning.
Mary Jane Harrell was swimming with her six-year-old cousin and 14-year-old brother Saturday when a strong current began to pull them under. Mary Jane pushed her cousin out of the current, but she was unable to save herself. Family members are calling her a hero.
Authorities say the water was rougher than usual due to recent heavy rains.
