Missing boater near Chandeleur Island

The U.S. Coast Guard suspended the search for a young man who fell off a boat three miles south of Chandeleur Island.

Monday, around midnight, the U.S. Coast Guard received a call from the captain of a commercial fishing vessel that a young man had fallen off of the boat. Coast Guard Ensign Justin Lee tells News 25 they deployed cutters, small boats, and aviation assets to search for the missing man.

After two days, the Coast Guard was unable to find him. The young man has not been identified at this time.
