Milwaukee Brewers no. 1 prospect Garrett Mitchell set to join the Biloxi Shuckers
While the Shuckers were able to snap a nine-game losing streak with a win last Thursday against the Blue Wahoos, it would be Biloxi’s only victory of the series.
After a day off today, the 16-37 Shuckers will begin a six-game series at home with the Birmingham Barons Tuesday.
However, the Shuckers are making an addition to their roster that may help turn the second half of the season around.
The Brewers announced Sunday that 2020 MLB Draft number 20 overall draft pick and the organization’s number one prospect, Garrett Mitchell, has been promoted to the Shuckers.
Mitchell punched his ticket to Double A after a week in which the Wisconsin Timber Rattler had two homeruns, 7 RBI, and a .480 batting average, earning him the honor of High A Central Player of the Week.
In the former Bruins’ short time with the Timber Rattlers, Mitchell racked up five homers, 20 RBI, and a .359 batting average.
Mitchell could be in the Shuckers line up as soon as tomorrow night.
