Miller-Motte Holds Trunk or Treat for Kids & Family

Miller-Motte Technical College in Gulfport is usually known for its degree programs for healthcare or commercial driving, but Thursday, kids that visited its campus knew it for candy and fun.

The college put on a Trunk or Treat for kids and their parents. There were about a dozen cars with trunks full of candy for costumed kids to visit, and the hallways of Miller-Motte had been transformed into a haunted house, complete with the "room of doom," which scared as many adults as it did kids. School staff wanted to provide the community with a safe place to trick or treat.

Randal Hayes, Campus Director for Miller-Motte, says, "It’s about us giving back to the community, having a good time, and enjoying with our faculty, our staff, and our students at an event where we can get together and have fun. It’s just a fun event."

The event had originally been planned just for students and their families, but they had so much fun, they opened it to the public.
