Military plane crashes, kills at least five in Leflore County
A large military plane has crashed in Mississippi, killing several people on board.
The Marines have posted on their Twitter page that the plane was one of their KC 130 refueling aircrafts.
Authorities say it took off from Memphis with eight people on board and then crashed in a field in Mississippi’s Delta region this afternoon.
An affiliate in Memphis is reporting investigators believe the plane exploded in mid-air because they found debris on both sides of a highway near the crash site.
First responders say four bodies have been recovered. No word on where the plane was headed.
The Federal Aviation Administration is directing all questions to the military.
