MGM Fireworks Show Causing Problems

There could soon be changes to the firework shows at MGM Park.
That’s because residents who live across from the stadium tell News 25 that fireworks have caused roof damage to their apartments.
Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney told the city council the firework shows at the Shuckers games have not broken any rules and have followed the guidelines in the permit, but the strong winds on the coast are to blame for the fireworks landing on the nearby apartments.
Dr. Bonnie White, the owner of the apartment complex on Caillavet Street tells News 25 she has spent over ten thousand dollars making repairs caused by the fireworks.

“We should be able to find a win, win situation for everyone. I don’t want to be a problem. But I cannot afford to have my business, and the homes of 20 people compromised.”

The city of Biloxi agreed to a meeting with Dr. White to resolve the issue, which will take place in January.
