MGCCC’s STEAM Club hosts Science Symposium featuring Keynote Speaker Michelle Anderson of NASA INFINITY Science Center

The STEAM Club (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math Club) at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Harrison County Campus is proud to announce its upcoming Science Symposium, scheduled to take place on Earth Day, Monday, April 22, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hospitality Resort Management Center.

The Science Symposium will feature keynote speaker Michelle Anderson, Chief Executive Director of the NASA INFINITY Science Center.  INFINITY is a science museum dedicated to providing guests with a quality, fun, and fascinating learning experience. It offers a blend of space, Earth science, engineering and technology content, spiced with innovative programming.

In addition to Anderson’s keynote address, students completing honors projects and others will present their research findings during the event. This symposium provides an invaluable platform for students to showcase their innovative projects and discoveries in various fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

Jeff Siegel, advisor for the STEAM Club, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Science Symposium represents a culmination of hard work, dedication, and intellectual curiosity from our students. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to share their research findings with the community and engage in meaningful conversations about the future of science and innovation.”

The event is open to the public and free of charge. Attendees can expect a day filled with captivating presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and opportunities to connect with fellow enthusiasts of STEAM disciplines.
