MGCCC Scholarship Gala

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College hosted their annual scholarship gala tonight, inviting businesses and organizations from across the Coast out to raise big bucks in style.
The gala took place at Beau Rivage Casino Resort, kicking off around 7 p.m. Guests had the chance to experience a silent auction, some great live jazz, and a delicious meal all while raising money to benefit the students of MGCCC.
Mary Graham, president of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, says this is the biggest turnout the gala has ever seen. “Tonight’s gala is a culmination of all the fundraising we’ve done all year. We have multiple levels of scholars and the goal this year was $300,000 and we’ve already surpassed that. About 75 percent of our students receive some type of scholarship either for performance or grades.”
The event also celebrated the school’s industry partners as guests from Chevron, Ingalls, several of the Gulf Coast hospital systems, multiple universities and WXXV were all in attendance tonight.
