MGCCC partners with Singing River for on-campus care
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Singing River Health System are building on a successful history of collaboration to provide better access to high-quality care for MGCCC students, employees, and dependents of employees.
On Monday, Singing River Health System assumed the sole responsibility of providing health care services at MGCCC’s on-campus clinics in Perkinston, Harrison County, George County, and Jackson County.
In addition to the on-campus clinics, students, faculty, and staff can now visit off-campus Singing River Medical Clinics in Biloxi, Gulfport, Hurley, Latimer, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, and Vancleave when the on-campus clinics are closed. Institutional Relations Associate Vice President Christen Duhe said, “No one has to pay if you are an employee, student, or a dependent of an employee. You don’t have to pay a co-pay when you come for general blood work, any kind of cold vaccines, vaccination. Those are all offered at no cost to everyone at the college. So, we are very excited about it, to partner with Singing River and it also offers us the opportunity to be connected to such a large hospital system along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”
MGCCC will host an open house at each location in the new year. An official ribbon-cutting will take place on January 19th at 2 p.m. at MGCCC’s Perkinston campus to celebrate.
