MGCCC partners with American Red Cross to save lives
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier and the American Red Cross partnered together to host a blood drive and health fair.
Students and community members were able to give blood and receive information on resources to improve their health, wellness, and overall well-being.
On campus club organizations were set up to give students an opportunity to learn about the club and join. Guests at the health fair also got to enjoy healthy snacks and smoothies. MGCCC Freshman Class President Breland Graves said, “It’s important to give blood that way we can help save lives. There are people that are on the list that are waiting for all of these transfers and all of these transfusions, types of organ donations, and they can’t receive any of that without giving blood.”
MGCCC student Alyssa Dunnaway said, “It’s important to learn about the health and risk factors in our community and figure out ways to help it.”
On Wednesday from 9 to 2, MGCCC Gautier campus will host a job fair in the health, physical, and aquatic education building.
