MGCCC offering one year, one cost career programs

If you’re looking for a career change, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College could help.

MGCCC will begin offering five accelerated career programs in fall 2020 that will allow students to earn a diploma in one year.

The career programs include auto collision, cosmetology, heavy equipment maintenance, HVAC, and welding.

This allow students to complete a program in three semesters for one all-inclusive cost.

Students who successfully complete the program will receive both a certificate and diploma that will give them the credentials they need to begin a career. MGCCC Associate Vice President of Institutional Relations Christen Duhe said, “This is really a great opportunity for people because it is accelerated so it’s fast. It’s a year long and that just gets them into the work force quicker and they will be able to earn a livable wage and just get their life started or if they are between jobs and this is a new opportunity for people to learn a new skill and learn it in just one year.”
