MGCCC hosts Congressman Mike Ezell

Congressman Mike Ezell made a special appearance at one south Mississippi event last night.

MGCCC’s Harrison County Campus hosted Chamber after 5, along with the Gulf Coast Business Council at the iMPAC Center.

Congressman Ezell and MGCCC President Dr. Mary Graham made remarks at the event.

Congressman Ezell tells News 25 that he has big plans in place to expand the Port of Gulfport.  “I have oversight over the Army Corps of Engineers. I’ve spoken to them along with officials about getting that port dredged out a little deeper. So far, we have had success with the army corps, the port has been given 900,000 for a feasibility study, which that’s just the first step. We’re really looking to dredge that channel out which will bring more cargo in here. We’re really excited about that.”

Chamber after 5 is a regular event that provides networking opportunities for members of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce.
