MGCCC hosts ‘Christmas at Jackson County’ event

In Jackson County tonight, the JC Concert Choir and JC Voices held their annual Christmas concert for the first time in two years.

Jackson County Campus fire arts students traded their traditional all black attire for festive outfits for the night. The performance opened with a couple musical numbers followed by Christmas classics and an audience sing-a-long.

There also was a tribute to a freshman choral student who passed this October due to COVID. JC Choral Director Kate Sawyer said, “We all came together and said we needed to do something. We needed to find the right moment. We needed to reflect and really do something that would be just honest and just loving.”

While this was their final performance of the semester, there will be more opportunities to see the JC Choral program perform during the spring. To stay update on concert dates, check out
