MGCCC holds spring commencement ceremony

This evening, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College hosted its spring commencement ceremony at the Coliseum in Biloxi.

More than 2,000 individuals received over 3,000 credentials and degrees with over 484 students projected to graduate with honors distinction.

Guest Speaker State Auditor Shad White gave an encouraging speech before the ceremony.

Organizers from MGCCC start planning for the next graduation right after this year’s graduation is over then meet multiple times throughout the year to make sure everything is set according to plan since it is one of the biggest events MGCCC hosts. Coordinator Michelle Sekul said, “This is one of the best events that we put on at the college, hands down. It is amazing to see the joy in people’s eyes, to know they reached a certain milestone in their life. To hear family members in the audience screaming people’s name and telling them that they love them. It really is. It’s an amazing day.”

MGCCC is currently registering students for the summer semester. The college is holding a special. For the price of one class this summer, students can take as many credits as they want.
