MGCCC celebrating Veterans Day all week

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is starting off the Veterans Day celebrations early with a week full of events aimed at honoring those who served.
Starting today, the Seabees were out on the Jeff Davis campus meeting students and showing off some of their equipment.
A different military branch will be present at the college each day until Wednesday and several other Veterans Day themed events will occur across the campus throughout the week. MGCCC Jeff Davis campus Vice President Dr. Jonathan Woodward said, “A large portion of our student population is active duty or retired military so our veterans are a big part of who we are not only as Gulf Coast Community College, but as the community as a whole on the Coast. We bring all these different groups and installations on our campus to create awareness of what our military is doing for us today and what they have done for us in the past so that we can have the freedom to come and get an education and further our own lives and careers.”
On Thursday at 12:30 p.m., the school will host a ceremony in their Veterans Courtyard featuring retired military members as their keynote speakers.
