MGCCC Bulldogs prepare for home opener
Following a season opening win over Mississippi Delta last Thursday night, the MGCCC Bulldogs are now shifting their focus to Coahoma.
The sixth ranked Bulldogs take on the Tigers tomorrow night at A.L. May Memorial Stadium for the first home game of the season.
MGCCC will be looking to carry the momentum over from last week’s 40-point victory over the Trojans towards Coahoma who upset fourth ranked Jones last week.
Sophomore running back and Poplarville native Austin Bolton is expecting a lot of family and friends at Thursday’s night game as he tries to improve on last week’s 100-yard and three-touchdown performance. “I love it ‘cause you know, 30 minutes away, the whole Poplarville, coming, coming down. It’s going to be a pretty good game, I got all my folks coming, fans and everything.”
MGCCC Head Coach Jack Wright said, “First home game’s always got a special sense of excitement. Last year was my first year as the head coach at Gulf Coast and week one the crowd was unbelievable. There was a great energy here in Perk and I’m hoping that we match or exceed that this year.”
The Bulldogs and Tigers will kick things off at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
