Metro Enforcement Team Crime Lab opens in Jackson County

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has announced the opening of their new crime lab.

Sheriff Mike Ezell announced the opening of the South Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team Crime Lab this week, making the department the only law enforcement agency in the state with its own in-house crime lab.

The lab is staffed by two forensic technicians from the Coast and will alleviate backlogs at the state crime lab, saving not only time and money, but also helping to process evidence and solve crimes faster.
