Meridian’s Holly Brand joins Team Kelly on the ‘The Voice’

Holly Brand’s performance of “Mississippi Girl” by Faith Hill earned her a three-chair turn on “The Voice” on Monday night.
The former Miss Mississippi contestant from Meridian was an immediate choice of Kelly Clarkson.
Blake Shelton was the only coach who didn’t turn his chair, and Brand surprised the outgoing coach by showing him a picture of the two at a concert when she was 10 years old.
Brand had her choice of Clarkson and this season’s newest coaches, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.
She chose Clarkson.
“It feels amazing to make it on The Voice. I’ve been watching this show for as long as I can remember and have always wanted to audition,” Brand said. “And I remember watching Todd Tilghman from my hometown wins a few seasons ago, so it’s super cool to be representing Meridian once again on ‘The Voice.’ And maybe Meridian will be 2 for 2. You never know!
