Men’s Health Screening Saturday in Gulfport

The National Council of Negro Women-Gulfport Section and partner organizations will host a Men’s Health Day on Saturday.

The health screening event will feature: stroke assessment, vision/hearing testing, blood pressure checks, COPD/asthma, body fat analysis, oral health, and more.

Door prizes, free healthy foods, and lunches will also be distributed.

Attendees are asked to bring their prescription bottles or a list of their medication to complete life-saving medical information cards. Good Health Wins Co-Chair Denise Wallace said, “We all have men in our families. We have fathers, grandfathers, brothers, friends who are men. We want them to be healthy. We want them to live long. So, by us holding this fair, we are able to do that.”

1st VP NCNW Victoria Sharpe said, “Men of color, it’s a disparity, they sometimes are the last ones to take care of themselves. So, this health fair will be an opportunity for them to come out and get all of their health needs met.”

The health fair will take place Saturday, January 21st from 8 a.m. to noon at Morning Star Baptist Church in Gulfport.
