Memories and Christmas Trees Parade in Picayune

The 61st Civic Woman’s Club of Picayune Christmas Parade ‘Memories and Christmas Trees’ was earlier tonight.

Over 140 parade entries made up the Christmas parade. Everything from floats, horses, cars, marching groups, cheer and dance teams, fire trucks, police vehicles, and lots of things on wheels joined in to kick off the Picayune holiday season.

Not only was the city amped for the parade, but the Picayune High School state championship win adds more reasons for celebration. Picayune Mayor Jim Luke said, “This is fabulous. One of the biggest nights of the year. We thank our Civic Women’s Club for putting on the parade each year, each year it gets bigger and better.”

Picayune Head Football Coach Cody Stogner said, “Got to be excited your team just won the 5A state championship and brought it back to Picayune. So, a lot of excitement in the air to go along with the holidays and so everything is just falling into place.”

On Monday December 13th, an official celebration for the football team will be at the Crosby Commons for the entire town to enjoy.
