Memorial receives multiple five-star ratings
Memorial has received the 2022 Health Grades Five-Star Recipient Award for carotid procedures, pacemaker procedures, and for spinal fusion surgery.
Hospitals with five-star ratings in these categories from 2018 to 2022, on average, have a 63 percent lower risk of experiencing a carotid procedure complication. Also, a 58.4 percent lower risk of experiencing spinal fusion complications, and a 57.5 percent lower risk of having cardiac pacemaker complications.
Health grades evaluated about 45 million Medicare inpatient records for nearly 4,500 short-term acute care hospitals nationwide to assess performance in 31 common conditions and procedures. Memorial Cardiology and Pulmonary Clinic Director Chad Ainsworth said, “It’s a feeling of elation. We sit back and reflect on accolades like these, and this is a great opportunity to express the gratitude that we have for our team and our organization at getting these health grades.”
This is the second year in a row Memorial received a five-star rating for carotid procedures. It is also the second time the hospital has received a five-star rating for spinal fusion surgery.
