Memorial Hospital Gulfport receives rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Memorial Hospital Gulfport has achieved a three-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

This is a national measure of hospital quality based on performance.

Critical areas focused on include mortality, safety of care, re-admission, patient experience, and timely plus effective care.

Memorial Health System’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shawn Dufford emphasizes the organization’s focus on quality and safety.

Dr. Dufford says the Memorial has implemented new quality and safety measures aimed at improving patient outcomes and hospital performance.

He says the hospital remains committed to improvement and ensuring the community receives the highest level of healthcare possible.
