Memorial Hospital Foundation offers financial assistance with Breast Imaging Fund

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it is very important to see if you have early signs of breast cancer by receiving a mammogram.

If you do not have health insurance or are under-insured, Memorial Hospital has a way to help.

The Memorial Hospital Foundation Breast Imaging Fund provides financial assistance for women on the Gulf Coast who cannot afford breast diagnosis imaging services including mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs.

When making a call to schedule an appointment, tell them you need financial assistance and they will point you in the right direction. Mammographer Laura Halat said, “It is very important to get your yearly mammogram. It’s okay if you’re maybe one or two months behind… it is better than not getting it at all. It is still recommended yearly to get your mammogram. The earliest prevention is the best, so we really like for our patients to stay on top of it.”

Mammograms are available at locations in Gulfport, Biloxi, and Diamondhead. To schedule a mammogram, call 228-867-4395.
