Memorial Health System doctor celebrates completing 100 Watchman procedures
Memorial Health System is celebrating a major milestone Tuesday.
Dr. Umair Malik has completed over 100 Watchman procedures, helping patients reduce their risk of stroke and take control of their heart health.
Memorial is one of few in Mississippi that offer the Watchmen FLX device and is utilized as an alternative to the lifelong use of blood thinners for people with atrial fibrillation not caused by a heart valve problem.
Dr. Malik says the device has prevented bleeding, strokes, and has given his patients a safer option.
