Memorial Health Family Medicine residents graduate

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- A new wave of medical professionals is set to hit the country as well as the rest of the Gulf Coast after Memorial Health’s family residence graduation.

We will now see several graduates take on their roles as attending doctors.

The graduation ceremony at Centennial Plaza featured nine graduates who took to the stage to be recognized for their completion of the family residence program.

The group of residents has been together for the past three years, training on average 60 hours a week, taking care of South Mississippi patients.

This batch of residents entered the program during the peak of COVID, but no matter how large the setback, it didn’t stop them from achieving their white jackets.

Out of the nine graduates, three of them will be continuing their medical careers in Mississippi with two of them returning to the Gulf Coast.
