Memorial Day Weekend Traffic Safety Enforcement

This year’s Memorial Day Weekend Traffic Safety Enforcement will take place Friday, May 27, 2022, through Monday, May 30th.
Starting today, and this holiday weekend, local law enforcement agencies will be out in force looking for impaired drivers and those not wearing seatbelts.
Officers of the D’Iberville Police Department will be out in force, assigned to area saturation patrols, to promote traffic safety.
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 5 through 24 which are a direct result of the occupants not utilizing safety belts or child safety seats.
The D’Iberville Police Department will be joining with other state and local law enforcement officers to help save more lives by strongly enforcing seat belt laws around the clock and adding additional officers for DUI enforcement to our roadways over the Memorial Day Weekend.
Chief Nobles hopes through enhanced proactive enforcement of impaired drivers and those not properly restrained, the D’Iberville Police Department will make for a safer Memorial Day Weekend and reduce the number of injuries or fatalities of our motoring public.
