Memorial Day Brings Business

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, bringing tourists and visitors to the Coast and all of its businesses.
Biloxi Beach was full of action this afternoon with families outside enjoying the water and the sand.
Biloxi Jet Ski Rentals tells News 25 that despite the recent stormy weather causing a decline in sales, the Memorial Day Weekend has been a complete turnaround for their business. They say they’ve stayed busy the entire day.
Edgewater Inn tells News 25 their hotel is booked completely with many guests from out of state. They say Memorial Day is not only great for the hotel but it makes money for other local businesses right by as well. Michelle Singleton with Edgewater Inn said, “Children, students, they’re out of school. We’ve had a great turnout with the pool and also with all of the surrounding areas and businesses.”
Geoffrey Whiter is from Birmingham, Alabama. He is staying on the Coast. He said, “It’s just beautiful. Not really busy like everywhere else and real family oriented and there’s so much to do around here.”
Visitors from Louisiana and northern Mississippi tell News 25 they like spending the holiday weekend on the Coast because of its beaches, food, shopping and family fun activities.
