Memorial Day Blowout

Despite the weather, bikers from different states gathered at the Gulfport Dragway to celebrate Memorial Day at the annual Memorial Day Blowout over the weekend.

For 36 years, this event offers a wide array of races and bike shows. Street war racing was also available throughout the three day blowout.

It’s a celebration where bikers can show their appreciation for those who have served in the military and everyone at the event has one thing in common. Blowout Event Coordinator Asgard Buff said, “The comradery, just like all services have, just everyone coming together and enjoying themselves, any type of motorcycle, any background as far as riding a motorcycle. You just come together and you have a common thing and that’s the love for motorcycles, the love of getting together and enjoying it in a motorcycle atmosphere.”

Over two thousand bikers show up every year to the Memorial Day event.
