Members of the Air Force return home over the weekend

Members of the Air Force’s 403rd Wing returned home to their loved ones on Saturday, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Family and friends endured the cold weather and vicious winds anxiously awaiting on the tarmac at Keesler Air Force Base for their loved ones to arrive.

Four large planes landed and were filled with men and women from the 403rd Wing returning from deployment in Southwest Asia.

The crowd is given the right away to greet their loved ones as hugs and kisses are in the air.

Montey Sloat, a pilot on the C-130 Jet, tells News 25 this is not his first time being deployed. “It’s a long experience. This is the second time I have done it and definitely the best part is always coming home.”

Friends and family say they are just glad to have their loved ones back home safely. “I’m so relieved. It has been a long few months.”

Ryan Rivera, a pilot on the C-130, says he misses his family, but most of all the food. “I am so excited to be back, get to see my eight-month-old, get to see my wife, my family. Get to eat some good American food. It’s just really good to be back on American soil.”

Instructor Pilot Chris Dolby is just excited to be back with his five-month-old. “I had an incredible group of people to work with out there and just really excited to spend some time at home with this little guy.”
