MEMA Latest: Fourteen Counties Affected by Tuesday Storms in Mississippi

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, or MEMA, has received damage reports from 14 counties due to the tornadoes and severe storms that impacted parts of our state on Tuesday.

According to MEMA’s latest update, there have been 14 reports of tornadoes so far, but that number willlikely change as the national weather service offices survey the damaged areas. There were also 7,934 power outages statewide on Tuesday.

Among the counties reporting damage from Tuesday’s outbreak are Hinds, Smith, Simpson and Jones counties. Damage reported ranges from trees down to damaged homes.
